Description
Dulse is a deep purple sea vegetable growing in bunches attached to rocks or mussels. Dulse can also be found attached to the stipe of a different type of seaweed such as the Kombu.
As Dulse grows in the lower tidal area, a good low tide is necessary for harvesting. Thus, Dulse can be accessed only every 2 weeks in the main harvesting season from Spring to Autumn.
Dillisk is a great source of minerals, vitamins, and trace elements. Dillisk is also interesting for vegetarians and vegans as it contains quite a high amount of protein.
It contains significant amounts of calcium and potassium helping to strengthen your bones.
Our easy-to-use Dillisk Flakes can be used in many ways. Simply sprinkle it on to oven baked potatoes – add it to the batter of your favourite fish – a spoon full of Dillisk Flakes in your stews will make it a special family recipe.
Dillisk boosts the flavour of any sandwich creation, gives a great taste in soups and salads or when baking bread or pizza, just add it to the dough.
