Traditionally carragheen was used as a soothing drink for coughs and colds here in Ireland.

What you need:
20 g dried Carragheen moss
1 l of water
Lemon or orange juice
Honey
Method :
i. Soak the dried carragheen for approximately 15 min in water. Rinse it thoroughly afterwards
ii. removing any shells or encrustations.
iii. Bring to the boil and simmer for about 1/2 hour. Strain using a sieve and remove the carragheen.
iv. You may add lemon or orange juice and add a little bit of sweetness with honey.
v. Drink as hot as possible.
